Round 1 - Whilton Mill - Race Day

News overnight is that we had our first casualty. Unfortunately Roger has had to retire from the race due to a previous shoulder injury that has flared up during practice yesterday. This will mean that Jordan, Ryan and Jon will race 3 X 2hr sessions each. 

Weather conditions this morning are wet but drying as the day progresses which will make qualifying somewhat testing.

Just preparing to start of the race, there will be a formation lap to start with then the karts will take their position on the grid. Looks like Jon will start for the team.

Race started unfortunate engine failure at the start caused Jordan to fall back. Engine was started by a Marshal on the track side all ok now.

Jordan been racing for 45 mins, another 45 to go. So far no issues. He's looking quick.

Jordan in 40th still hasn't managed to equal his time in practice, the track however is still drying out. Just over 5 hrs of racing left.

30mins to go before the first fuel stop and Jon takes over.

RYSK racing now up to 39th out of 43 karts. Jordan just recorded a 54:70, fastest lap so far.

Jon now in the kart after a great pitstop. 4hrs and 23 mins left of racing.

Jon flying just posted a 53:43 fastest time of the weekend so far.

Jon putting in some very consistent lap times but still hasn't beaten his previous best of 53:43. About half way through his session before another fuel stop and Ryan takes over. Kart handling amazinging well. Weather still dry. Jon just spun! All looks good.

Currently comfortable in 36th place with Jordan averaging 54sec a laps with 1hr 23 of PPO up racing to go. This is a great team performance for RD1 by RYSK racing
