Round 2 - PFI - Setup Day
Happy Easter! This weekends format, given the bank holiday, meant we had what was supposed to be a chilled setup day.
Unfortunately en route up the van’s alternator decided to pack up and whilst we did manage to get to PFI it resulted in the AA being called to the track to attempt a repair.
Under normal circumstances a road side replacement would be impossible as a special tool is required to release tension on the belt, but of course the PFI team had no problem whipping up a custom fabricated tool with a grinder and a welder which would work perfectly!
Whilst the AA bloke was less than impressed with PFI’s engineering ability given he now had to replace an alternator on his bank holiday weekend, he cracked on and got it replaced.
Whilst we are on the subject of broken things, both Ben and Curt were due up in the afternoon/ evening after what can only be called a heavy night for Bens birthday, an early night and a good sleep couldn’t have come any sooner.
After what can only be called a stressful day, the van was sorted, all parties arrived and a good dinner out with some beers was enjoyed, ready for practice day tomorrow!
